1)  3 400 075

2)  the place value of digit 8 in the number 8 341 695 is millions

3)   6 279 310 = 6 millions + 2 hundred thousands + 7 ten thousands + 9 thousands
                          + 3 hundreds + 1 tens

4)  Round off  7 720 150 to the nearest millions.
     8 000 000 ÷ 1 000 000 = 8.0 million

5)  0.4 million + 600 000  = ( 0.4 X 1 000 000 ) + 600 000
                                            = 400 000 + 600 000
                                            = 1 000 000

6)  ( 398 + 85 ) ÷ 23  = 483 ÷ 23
                                    =  21

7)  3 269 – 1 413 ÷ 3 =  3 269 – 471
                                     =  2 798

8)  ( 546 x 5 ) – ( 51 x 36 ) =  2 730 – 1 836
                                             =  894

9)  ( 35 970 – 17 490 ) ÷ 33 =  18 480 ÷ 33
                                                =  560

Answer: Each school receives 560 books.

10)  ( 1 236 – 136 ) ÷ 20  x  5
     = 1 100 ÷ 20  x  5
     = 55  x  5
     = 275

Answer: There are 275 marbles in 5 boxes.
